Czech public transport promotes tourism with new tram treasure hunt and historic train rides

The Museum of Public Transport in Prague has launched a series of location‑based puzzle games called Tripper. Each game follows a different tram line, offering more than fifteen tasks, codes and clues that lead participants to a final solution, a hidden treasure or a historical secret. Players obtain a printed brochure at the museum’s ticket office, and the games cost between 199 and 249 CZK. The activities are designed for families, couples and groups, with children under ten advised to be accompanied by an adult.

At the same time, the Integrated Transport of the Plzeň Region (IDPK) is running nostalgic weekend trips on 1–2 August 2026. A historic motor vehicle nicknamed “Hurvínek” will travel from Prague to Železná Ruda, while the locomotive “Hektor” will operate on the Bezdružice line to celebrate its 125th anniversary. Tickets for the train are priced at 200 CZK for adults and 100 CZK for children aged 6–15, with a retro bus providing additional connections. Both initiatives aim to attract tourists and locals to experience Czech railway heritage.
