Czech Radio extends regional studio directors' mandates

General Director René Zavoral of Czech Radio announced that the mandates of all current directors of its fourteen regional studios have been extended until 30 September 2026, covering twelve studios. No decision has yet been made on new leadership for the Plzeň and Karlovy Vary studios. The former director of those studios, David Jakš, will become the permanent foreign correspondent for Czech Radio in Asia, based in Seoul, while interim oversight of the two studios has been assigned to regional broadcasting manager Pavel Kozler.

The continued directors include Zdeněk Duspiva (Český rozhlas České Budějovice and Vysočina), Jiří Kánský (Hradec Králové and Pardubice), Milan Knotek (Liberec and Sever), Josef Podstata (Brno, Olomouc, Ostrava and Zlín) and Petr Sznápek (Střední Čechy and Rádio Praha). The extensions aim to provide stability and support further development of regional broadcasting, including new programmes such as “Den v kraji” and “Osobnosti Česka.”
