Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra performs Jan Kučera premiere

The Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra recently performed a program featuring the world premiere of Jan Kučera’s Violin Concerto, performed by violinist David Pokorný under the direction of David Pokorný. The concert also included Charles Ives’ “The Unanswered Question” and a performance of Gustav Holst’s “The Planets,” accompanied by Carmina Bohemica and the Czech Radio Children’s Choir.

In related programming, Czech Radio’s D-dur station is broadcasting a diverse selection of classical works. The schedule includes recordings of Wagner’s “Rienzi” from Bayreuth, Prokofiev’s “Scythian Suite” performed by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra with Sir Simon Rattle, and Holst’s “The Planets” performed by the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. Other featured works include Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony and Mahler’s Sixth Symphony.
