Czech regions feature newborn baby photo contests

Local newspapers in the Czech Republic are publishing weekly photo galleries of newborns from regional hospitals. In the Moravskoslezský kraj, babies born in the 31st week of 2026 such as Laura Mia Unucka (4,070 g, 51 cm) and others were presented with family consent, and readers can vote for the "most sympathetic baby" in an online poll that feeds into a national final. A similar gallery from the Strakonice hospital listed newborns named Bára, Damian and Štěpán, also inviting public voting. The contests aim to engage the community and highlight regional families, with winners advancing to a country‑wide competition for the title of Baby of the Month.
