Czech regions invest millions in school infrastructure upgrades

Regional authorities in the Czech Republic are investing significant funds into the modernization of secondary school infrastructure.

In the Pardubice Region, the Žamberk Gymnasium is undergoing an extensive reconstruction of its annex, costing nearly 92 million CZK. The project aims to bring the 1970s and 80s-era building up to passive building standards. Improvements include new windows, insulation, ventilation, and the creation of study zones, psychological support facilities, and a multifunctional hall. The project is expected to be completed by early 2026.

In the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Petr Bezruč Gymnasium in Frýdek-Místek has completed a 22.3 million CZK renovation of its outdoor areas. The new facilities include a running track, a multifunctional field, a workout zone, a bouldering wall, and an outdoor classroom area with shaded seating. The investment was fully funded by the regional budget to improve the learning environment for students.
