Czech regions launch annual nursing excellence awards

Regional nursing awards are underway in the Czech Republic, recognizing the professionalism and dedication of healthcare workers in the Moravian-Silesian and Pardubice regions.

In the Moravian-Silesian region, the ‘Moravskoslezská Sestra 2026’ survey has selected 27 nurses from regional medical facilities. This year introduces a change in the evaluation system, moving away from comparing different nursing specialties to focusing on individual personalities and their work within specific hospitals. Public voting will run from August 24 to September 20, culminating in a gala on October 1 at the VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava.

In the Pardubice region, the ‘Sestra Pardubického kraje 2026’ competition features 23 nominees for the public prize. Among the candidates are four women from the Svitavy area, including long-term professionals from Svitavy Hospital and local charity services. The awards include categories for direct nursing care, social services, and lifetime achievement awards decided by an advisory board.
