Czech releases: Ali Hazelwood novel and Curry Barker thriller film debut

Ali Hazelwood's new novel "Nevhodný letní románek" will be published by Ikar in June 2026. The 147 × 228 × 33 mm paperback follows a protagonist who contemplates skipping her brother's wedding abroad, dealing with family expectations and personal anxieties.

The Czech‑language thriller "Posedlost" (Possession), directed by Curry Barker, explores a toxic relationship that turns into a nightmarish obsession. Michael Johnston stars as Bear, a shy young man who uses a dubious esoteric charm to win the affection of his colleague Nikki, played by Inde Navarrette. The film depicts the escalating danger of their bond and the psychological horror that ensues.
