Czech Republic announces Castle Night 2026 and new tourist attractions
The Czech Republic is seeing a surge in tourism attractions for 2026, highlighted by the annual Castle and Chateau Night on Saturday, August 22. Organized by the National Heritage Institute, the event features nearly 140 monuments, including castles, chateaus, monasteries, and churches, offering unique nighttime experiences.
Specific highlights include Horšovský Týn Castle, which will host Japanese-themed activities such as samurai demonstrations and kimono trials. Loučeň Castle offers tours ranging from chocolate-themed walks to sunrise tours, while other locations feature quizzes and traditional outdoor cooking.
In addition to these seasonal events, several new tourist destinations are opening across the country. Notably, a medieval castle section in Bečov nad Teplou has opened to the public for the first time in history, providing access to areas that were previously inaccessible to visitors.
