Czech Republic celebrates National Day in Ankara with trade announcement

The Czech Republic's Embassy in Ankara hosted a reception to celebrate Czech National Day. The event was attended by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister and EU Presidency Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Czech Ambassador Petr Stepanek, and various foreign mission representatives.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Bozay highlighted the deep-rooted history of cooperation between Turkey and the Czech Republic, noting that both nations are NATO allies sharing a commitment to Euro-Atlantic security. He emphasized that bilateral trade continues to grow annually.

Ambassador Stepanek announced that bilateral trade volume has reached 8.5 billion USD, marking a new era in relations. He noted ongoing cooperation between companies in the defense industry and other sectors, and mentioned the recent opening of a honorary consulate in Izmir.
