Czech Republic eliminates POZE electricity subsidy charge

Starting in 2026, electricity bills in the Czech Republic will no longer include the POZE charge, a fee used to support various renewable energy sources. This payment, which supported solar, wind, water, biogas, and biomass producers, was previously passed on to households, businesses, and companies.

In 2025, the contribution for households reached 495 CZK per megawatt-hour consumed. While the removal of this state-regulated component may theoretically lower monthly costs, the final impact on consumers will depend on how individual energy suppliers set their monthly advance payments.
