Czech Republic grapples with widespread fatigue from poor sleep quality
Health experts in the Czech Republic warn that many people awaken feeling exhausted despite sleeping the recommended seven to nine hours. The most common causes identified include sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, an unsuitable sleeping environment, stress, anxiety, poor mental health, heavy meals before bed, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and dehydration. These factors can lower immunity, disrupt blood‑sugar levels, worsen mood, and increase the risk of hypertension, depression and obesity.
In addition to lifestyle changes, specialists suggest that certain dietary supplements may help improve sleep. Melatonin, a natural hormone that regulates circadian rhythms, can shorten the time needed to fall asleep when taken in low doses. Magnesium supports nervous‑system function and reduces fatigue, often provided as magnesium bisglycinate. Vitamin B6, L‑theanine and various plant extracts are also highlighted for their potential to promote relaxation and better sleep quality.
