Czech Republic hosts national firefighting and chess championships

Several national championships are scheduled to take place in the Czech Republic. In Hradec Králové, the Czech Republic Championship for professional and volunteer firefighters in firefighting sports will be held from September 4 to September 6. The competition includes events such as climbing a training tower, 100-meter obstacle runs, relays, and fire attacks.

Additionally, the Czech Republic Team Championships in rapid and blitz chess are set for September 5 and 6, 2026, in Skalský Dvůr, Vysočina region. The chess tournament features dozens of teams, including several extra-league teams, competing in Swiss system formats. The rapid chess championship will be defended by ŠK Polabiny, while ŠK JOLY Lysá nad Labem defends the blitz chess title.
