Czech Republic hosts regional folklore and music festivals

Several cultural festivals are taking place in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. In Zlín, the FEDO festival is hosting a four-day event featuring nearly 900 musicians, dancers, and folklore groups from the Czech Republic and abroad, including participants from India and Latvia.

The Zlín program includes a traditional parade, a ‘Monstrkoncert’ featuring various domestic brass orchestras, and various performances in local squares and parks. Mayor Jiří Korec noted that the city is continuing a long-standing tradition of hosting such musical celebrations.

In Vizovice, the 57th Trnkobraní festival recently concluded, drawing thousands of visitors. The three-day event featured musical performances from artists such as Tři sestry and Olympic, alongside regional folklore. The festival also included a notable dumpling-eating competition, won for the sixth consecutive year by Radim Dvořáček, who consumed 193 dumplings.
