Authorities in the Czech Republic are taking several steps to manage water resources and mitigate flood risks. In the South Bohemian Region, Povodí Vltavy has reduced the outflow from the Římov reservoir to 250 liters per second, down from 400 liters per second. This measure aims to increase the reservoir's water reserves, which currently hold approximately 15.5 million cubic meters, or just under 52 percent of its capacity. The reservoir is a critical source of drinking water for over 360,000 people.

In the Ostrava region, Povodí Odry is constructing a new dry reservoir near Klimkovic to protect against local flooding. The project includes an 8.5-meter-high earth dam designed to capture heavy rainfall and reduce peak flows during flood events. The construction is expected to be completed next year.

Additionally, the city of Hradec Králové is planning a 71 million CZK modernization of its warning system. The current system is 26 years old and nearing the end of its service life. The new multi-stage system will be integrated with national warnings to alert citizens about floods, fires, and air pollution.
