Czech Republic launches new 'super benefit' for households in August

In August 2026 the Czech Republic will begin regular payments of a new unified state social aid programme, the "superdávka" (DSSP). The benefit replaces four separate supports – housing allowance, child allowance, subsistence allowance and housing supplement – and is paid to the entire household rather than to individuals.

More than 230,000 households that previously received any of the old benefits and applied before the end of 2025 will receive their first payment. The average monthly amount is estimated at about 7,800 CZK per household, which translates to roughly 1.8 billion CZK in the first month. The Labour Office advises recipients to verify their decision notice, bank account details and household composition before the payment. "Průměrná výše přiznané DSSP v případě starožadatelů je zhruba 7 800 Kč," said Martina Mlynářová of the Úřad práce.
