Czech Republic meat production rises slightly in Q2 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, meat production in the Czech Republic saw a slight year-on-year increase of 1.6%, reaching a total of 119,276 tons. This marks the sixth consecutive quarter of growth. Poultry production led this trend with a 3.7% increase, while pork production rose marginally by 0.4%. Conversely, beef production experienced a slight decline of 0.5%.

Agricultural producer prices showed significant volatility during this period. Beef prices remained higher year-on-year, increasing by 10.7%. Poultry prices rose by 4.0%, whereas pork prices saw a substantial year-on-year drop of 19.0%. Milk prices also experienced a sharp decline, falling by 24.3% compared to the previous year.

Direct milk purchases from producers increased by 3.9% to 876,736 thousand liters. While production volumes for pork and beef remained relatively stable, the sector's response to price fluctuations is expected to be delayed due to the long-term nature of livestock production.
