Czech Republic observes public holiday on October 28

The Czech Republic will observe a major public holiday on Wednesday, October 28, marking the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State. Due to national regulations, large retail stores and shopping centers with a sales area exceeding 300 square meters must remain closed.

Smaller shops may remain open, but consumers are advised to complete major shopping in advance. To mark the occasion, the Museum and Gallery of Northern Pilsen is hosting a 'Day of Regions' event at Mariánská Týnice. Visitors can access the baroque architectural complex, including the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary designed by Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel, for a symbolic entry fee of 28 CZK.
