Czech Republic offers subsidies for home energy renovations
The Czech Republic's 'Nová zelená úsporám Light' program provides direct subsidies of up to 250,000 CZK to homeowners for energy-saving renovations. The program specifically targets lower-income households, including retirees, who benefit from more lenient income thresholds.
Eligible improvements include insulation for facades, roofs, ceilings, or floors, as well as the replacement of windows and doors. Additionally, the program supports the installation of heat pumps, biomass boilers, solar water heating, and small-scale photovoltaics. To qualify, homes must typically fall within energy efficiency classes E through G.
Applicants are encouraged to consult a registered energy advisor from the State Environmental Fund to obtain a free 'renovation passport,' which outlines necessary upgrades. For those not qualifying for direct subsidies, interest-free loans from participating banks or building savings institutions are available to finance renovations.
