Czech Republic proposes legal reforms for criminal proceedings and non-consensual pornography

The Czech government and legislative proposals are moving toward significant updates to the criminal code and criminal procedure. One proposed amendment aims to address non-consensual pornography, which involves the public depiction of individuals in sexual acts without their consent. This includes addressing modern challenges such as the use of AI and photomontages to create such content.

Separately, a government-approved amendment to the criminal procedure code seeks to modernize the justice system through digitalization. Key measures include the expanded use of automatic transcription systems for court hearings, remote access to audio and video recordings for authorized parties, and streamlined methods for delivering legal documents to individuals avoiding service. These changes are intended to reduce administrative burdens and align with the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights.
