Public sector R&D funding saw a double-digit increase of 12.4%, reaching 58.5 billion CZK. This was supported by 46 billion CZK from national sources and 12.6 billion CZK from European Union funds, the latter marking the highest level of EU funding in a decade. R&D spending as a percentage of GDP rose slightly to 1.85%, compared to the EU average of approximately 2.3%. The sector employed 125,000 people, with women making up roughly 30% of the workforce.
