Czech Republic reports stable tourism performance in Q2

The Czech Republic reported stable tourism performance in the second quarter of the year. According to data from CzechTourism and the Czech Statistical Office, 6.4 million guests stayed in collective accommodation facilities, totaling over 15.1 million nights. Residents accounted for 54 percent of arrivals, while foreign visitors made up 46 percent.

Prague remains the primary destination, hosting 2.2 million guests and nearly 5 million nights. Other significant regions include South Moravia and South Bohemia. While the total number of arrivals grew by 0.5 percent and overnight stays by 0.3 percent compared to the previous year, regional trends varied. The Moravian-Silesian, Hradec Králové, and Liberec regions saw the highest growth rates.

In contrast, the Karlovy Vary Region experienced a decline, with domestic arrivals dropping by 7.5 percent and foreign visitors decreasing by 1.5 percent. Despite this, the Karlovy Vary Region maintained the longest average length of stay at 4.84 days. Key source markets for international tourists include Germany, Slovakia, and Poland, with notable increases in visitors from the USA, Great Britain, Austria, Japan, and Brazil.
