Czech Republic sees rise in occupational accidents

Statistics from the State Labor Inspection Office indicate a rising trend in occupational accidents in the Czech Republic. Last year saw approximately 100 more accidents than the previous year, with 783 serious injuries and 87 fatalities reported. The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs attributes this increase primarily to the growing number of people in the labor market.

The most high-risk sectors identified include construction, transport, and manufacturing. Data shows that men are nearly twice as likely to be involved in workplace accidents compared to women. While the absolute number of incidents has risen, officials note that the long-term trend remains improved compared to previous decades.
