Czech Republic to host L’Etape and Czech Tour cycling events in 2026
The amateur L’Etape Czech Republic, an official Tour de France event, will take place on Saturday 20 June 2026 in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. Roads will be closed for routes ranging from 60 to 140 km, and former world champion Peter Sagan will appear at the start. The race is organized to provide a professional‑level experience for thousands of hobby cyclists.
The Czech Tour, upgraded to the UCI ProSeries for the first time in 2026, will run from 13 to 16 August over the country’s toughest stages, including routes from Prague to Karlovy Vary, Mladá Boleslav to Ještěd, Pardubice to the Jeseníky, and Kroměříž to the Beskydy summit. Spanish ProTeam Equipo Kern Pharma has confirmed its participation, which director Leopold König said “fits the profile of teams we want to see at Czech Tour.” The event will feature WorldTour squads, other ProTeams and continental teams, giving Czech riders a chance to compete against elite international competition.
