Central Europe weather shifts toward warmer autumn conditions
Central Europe is experiencing significant weather transitions as autumn settles in. In Poland, a period of rain and cooler temperatures is expected to give way to warmer, sunnier conditions by the weekend, with some regions potentially seeing temperatures reach 24°C.
In the Czech Republic, meteorologists predict the arrival of 'Indian summer' (babí léto) over the coming days. While Friday may remain cloudy and cool, temperatures are expected to rise significantly through the weekend and into next week, reaching up to 25°C. This shift follows recent cold snaps and morning frosts.
Germany and Switzerland are seeing a mix of conditions. Germany may experience unseasonably warm temperatures near 30°C toward the end of the month due to a high-pressure system, despite some initial rain. Switzerland is transitioning from a period of high pressure to more variable weather, with sunny intervals expected in many regions following morning fog.
Austria is facing a cold front that may bring rain, thunderstorms, and potential hail, particularly along the northern side of the Alps. In the higher elevations of the Krkonoše and Tatra mountains, recent snowfall has been recorded, though warmer temperatures are forecasted to follow.
