Czech Republic weather to shift from tropical heat to storms

The Czech Republic is set to experience a significant weather shift this week, transitioning from cold mornings to tropical heat before a major cold front arrives.

Following cold starts with temperatures dropping as low as 3 to 6 degrees Celsius in some valleys, a surge of warm air will drive temperatures upward. Tuesday is expected to be the warmest day, with tropical conditions reaching up to 33 degrees Celsius, particularly in southern Moravia and the southeast.

This heat will be interrupted on Wednesday by a passing cold front. Meteorologists from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) warn that Wednesday will be the wettest day of the week, bringing widespread rain, intense showers, and localized thunderstorms.

Following the front, temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with daytime highs falling to between 16 and 21 degrees Celsius for the remainder of the week. Conditions are projected to stabilize toward the weekend with partly cloudy skies and temperatures around 23 degrees Celsius.
