Czech Road Directorate begins 144 million CZK repairs on D0 ring road

The Czech Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) has begun repairs on 15 kilometers of the D0 ring road. The project, costing nearly 144 million CZK excluding VAT, is scheduled for completion by October 18.

The maintenance involves grinding approximately 20,000 square meters of concrete surface using diamond discs to a depth of one centimeter. This process is designed to level irregularities, improve skid resistance, and reduce tire noise. Following the grinding, workers will seal cracks and treat the surface with a specialized resin.

This technology, inspired by practices in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, aims to extend the technical lifespan of the concrete roadway by ensuring it remains in good condition for its projected 30-year service life while reducing the need for frequent future maintenance.
