Czech security forces to receive 2,400 CZK salary increase
Czech security force members, including police and firefighters, will receive a 2,400 CZK increase in their tariffs next year. This follows negotiations between trade unions and government representatives, including Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.
Interior Minister Lubomír Metnar specified that 500 CZK of this amount is intended to cover overtime and standby duties. The government has committed to a three-year plan of continuous increases, aiming to reach a starting salary of 50,000 CZK for new police officers after their basic professional training.
Justice Minister Jeroným Tejc noted that the fixed-amount increase will most significantly benefit personnel currently in the lowest pay brackets. While trade unions had originally requested a 10 percent increase, they accepted the current deal as a compromise due to state budget constraints.
