Czech sports updates: Opava basketball and Nové Veselí handball results

In Czech junior basketball, BK Opava's nineteen-year-old team secured a dominant 91:57 victory over Sokol Prague in the extraliga. Despite a demanding schedule that saw players returning from a previous game in the early morning hours, Opava maintained control throughout the match. Coach Kryštof Vlček noted the team's strong defensive performance and highlighted that his starting five consisted of players born in 2009, whereas Sokol Prague fielded an older roster.

In handball, TJ Sokol Nové Veselí earned a 32:32 draw against the league leaders, HCB Karviná, in the ninth round of the Chance Extraliga. Nové Veselí held a lead for much of the first half, but Karviná managed to equalize in the closing stages of the game. This result marks the first time in the current season that Karviná has failed to secure a victory after an eight-game winning streak.
