Czech students face September 15 deadline for new graduation exam option

High school students in the Czech Republic have until September 15 to apply for a new type of graduation exam known as a comprehensive profile work. This option allows students to complete one extensive project instead of several separate mandatory profile exams, provided their school offers this alternative.

Experts from EDUin note that this format allows students to demonstrate their ability to connect knowledge from different subjects, work with various sources, and solve specific problems. Unlike traditional exams that may be affected by immediate stress or luck with drawn questions, the comprehensive work tracks a longer process of development over several months. This approach is intended to better prepare students for the requirements of universities and employers.

This method is available in all graduation fields except for conservatories. Last year, statistics from the Ministry of Education showed that 116 students at 13 schools utilized this option.
