Czech students mark International Car Free Day with cycling events

In observance of International Car Free Day on September 22, various educational activities and cycling events were held for students across the Czech Republic.

In Vysoké Mýto, approximately 150 children from four local primary schools participated in a cycling race held on a professional racetrack. Organized by the Cyklo Bendl association, the event allowed students to ride on a closed circuit typically used by motorcycles and racing cars. The program included skill tests and a first aid course provided by the Czech Red Cross, aiming to promote physical activity and cycling as a healthy alternative to sedentary habits.

In Chyšky, students participated in activities as part of the 'Eco-School' program, which has focused on transportation analysis. The day included a lecture by a highway police officer on road safety and accident procedures, first aid training, and traffic sign recognition tests. Many students opted to commute to school via bicycle or scooter to support the initiative.
