Czech Summer Festivals Expand Accessibility Services for Disabled Visitors

Several Czech summer festivals are enhancing facilities for visitors with disabilities. The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) now offers nine of its thirteen cinemas barrier‑free, free admission for disabled guests, wheelchair‑friendly transport around the city, and on‑site assistance services. The Colours of Ostrava music festival introduced a counselling desk run by the National Council of Persons with Disabilities, reduced tickets for ZTP holders, special tribunes, accessible parking, a dedicated shuttle service, and sign‑language interpretation for performances.

At the Hrady CZ open‑air festival, wheelchair users can access the stage directly, though visitor numbers are limited. Rock for People added accessible parking, a barrier‑free camp with charging stations and a rest area, while Pop Messe and other regional events also provide dedicated corridors and improved viewing platforms for disabled attendees.
