Czech Technical University partners on monastery restoration and underground lab projects
The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) signed a partnership agreement with the Vyšebrodský Cistercian monastery. The deal allows ČVUT students to carry out practical work on restoration projects, supporting the monastery’s effort to revive its historic complex, which attracts about 30,000 visitors annually.
In a separate memorandum, ČVUT and the Central Bohemian Region established a closer partnership for the underground laboratory Josef. The agreement links public administration, academia and industry to foster applied research, testing of modern technologies, and the training of students for the construction sector. The lab will host projects ranging from robotics and digitalisation to international material testing, aiming to accelerate the transfer of research into practice.
