Czech television updates: New series casting and broadcast changes

TV Nova has announced that the popular medical series ‘Ordinace v růžové zahradě 2’ will return to evening broadcasts starting in September. The broadcaster will air episodes from 2022 that were previously available only on streaming platforms Voyo and Oneplay.

In the new season, actress Magdaléna Bařáková joins the cast as Jana. Her character’s physical resemblance to the late Anna Julie Slováčková, who played Radka Kratochvílová, is an intentional creative decision. TV Nova stated this serves as a symbolic farewell to the late actress, aiming to handle the character’s passing in a lighthearted and comedic manner.

Separately, actress Alena Doláková discussed her role in the upcoming series ‘My nejsme sekta’ (We Are Not a Cult) for the Prima Plus streaming platform. Directed by Andrea Sedláčková, the series explores the theme of psychological manipulation and is based on real cults operating within the Czech Republic. Doláková noted that she studied these groups to prepare for her role as Karolína, a nurse caught in the dynamics of such organizations.
