Czech theaters announce upcoming comedy and opera productions

Various theatrical productions are scheduled in the Czech Republic. Divadlo Gong in Prague will host several comedies between October 19 and 24, 2026. The lineup includes Norbert Intribus’s nostalgic comedy ‘Normální debil’ set in the era of Czechoslovak socialism, the one-woman show ‘Cavewoman’ by Daniela Choděrová, and the family comedy ‘Dokud nás milenky nerozdělí’ featuring Vladimír Kratina.

In Liberec, the opera house is presenting a satirical production of Offenbach’s ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’. Directed by Linda Hejlová Keprtová, this version reimagines the classical myth through a modern lens, focusing on themes of social media influence and public opinion. The production aims to attract younger audiences by addressing how digital reality shapes modern perceptions of truth and relationships.
