Czech travelers favor Southern Europe and Egypt for autumn holidays
Czech travelers are increasingly choosing Southern Europe and Egypt for their autumn holidays. According to travel experts and providers like Kiwi.com and RegioJet, two-thirds of travelers are heading to Southern Europe, with significant growth seen in destinations like Portugal (+19%), Malta (+17%), and a massive 86% increase in interest for Albania.
While major cities like Barcelona and Rome remain popular, there is a rising trend toward exotic locations such as Egypt, Zanzibar, Kenya, and the Maldives, supported by direct charter flights from Prague. Additionally, many Czechs are opting for domestic travel within the country, particularly to South Moravia, Vysočina, and South Bohemia, to enjoy nature and relaxation.
Rail operators are also preparing for increased demand, with popular routes to Vienna and Budapest expected to be heavily utilized. While flight prices for autumn breaks are roughly 20% higher than the annual average, travelers are booking further in advance, averaging 55 days compared to the usual 44.
