Czech towns gear up for Oct 2026 municipal elections

Municipal elections across the Czech Republic are scheduled for 9‑10 October 2026. In the historic town of Krumlov, former ODS deputy mayor Zbyněk Toman has left the party and will run with the newly formed Naše Česko movement. The local coalition says its priorities include repairing road networks, upgrading the winter stadium, expanding the aquacentrum and modernising the wastewater treatment plant.

In Nymburk, the incumbent mayor Tomáš Mach heads the Nymburk s klidem coalition, which currently governs with ODS. The upcoming council will manage a municipal budget that exceeds 1 billion CZK for 2026, covering services such as schools, social care and culture.

Třebíč’s mayor Pavel Pacal (Pro Třebíč) is seeking another term. The city council consists of 27 seats, with the ruling coalition of Pro Třebíč, ANO and KDU‑ČSL holding 18 seats. A joint candidate list called “Třebíč – můj domov,” led by Jan Burda, brings together ODS, TOP 09 and local independents. In the 2022 elections, voter turnout was 42.25 %, and ANO and Pro Třebíč each secured eight seats.

Entities: Jan Burda · Pavel Pacal · Robin Schinko · Tomáš Mach · Zbyněk Toman
