Czech towns host cultural events in Velké Meziříčí and Kroměříž

The Czech towns of Velké Meziříčí and Kroměříž are hosting significant cultural events. In Velké Meziříčí, the municipal library has officially reopened following a major two-year reconstruction. Mayor Alexandros Kaminaras described the facility as a top-tier library in the Vysočina region, noting its modern equipment and architectural design. Director Ivana Vaňková highlighted the library's role as a multifaceted cultural center for study, lectures, and performances.

Meanwhile, Kroměříž is launching its inaugural 'Kroměříž shines' festival from September 18 to 20. The event features a diverse program including music, visual shows, street art, and a gastro-festival showcasing regional specialties. Highlights include performances by the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc and tributes to the music of local native Miloš Macourek. Mayor Tomáš Opatrný stated the goal is to offer residents and visitors a new perspective on the historic city through illuminated installations and various musical stages.
