Czech towns Kaplice and Prostějov unveil new ball tracks for families

In the village of Kaplice, a wooden ball track costing 299,998 CZK has been built after residents selected the project through a participatory budget. The attraction, intended for children and adults, will open once the concrete foundations have fully cured. The municipal website said the track will allow visitors to roll balls on several creative routes, hold small races and enjoy time together.

In the city of Prostějov, a new central square now hosts a pétanque court and a ball track aimed at children. The facilities were installed by the local Sportcentrum in cooperation with the municipality, and balls can be borrowed from a nearby café for a refundable deposit. Director Jan Zatloukal said the square is meant to “live and offer people space not only for relaxation but also for sport activities,” and to encourage residents of all generations to use the area.

Both projects are intended to enhance public spaces, encourage active recreation and provide new leisure options for local communities.
