Czech senior transport and activity programs expanded in Kroměříž and Prague 6

From 1 September, the Senior Taxi service in Kroměříž will operate under a new private contractor, Petr Bonďa, after a public tender. The city will require all users – seniors and persons with disability cards – to obtain a Senior Taxi card, increase the fleet to at least three vehicles, and keep the uniform fare at 30 CZK per ride. Mayor Tomáš Opatrný said the changes aim to shorten waiting times and boost satisfied trips for seniors travelling to medical facilities, offices and shops.

Meanwhile, the Prague 6 municipal district has announced a series of autumn bus excursions for residents aged 65 and over. Six outings are scheduled between 10 and 24 September to destinations such as the kaolin mine at Nevřeň, Dětenice Castle and brewery, Bedřich Smetana Memorial, Žinkovy Castle, the Kunratic glassworks and Grabštejn Castle. Participants must reside in Prague 6 (excluding several neighborhoods) and register through the district’s social‑services office. Transport is provided free of charge, while a modest participation fee covers entry and guide costs.
