Czech towns launch major renovations of historic house museum and vocational school

The town of Horní Slavkov in the Sokolov district plans to finish the conversion of a 16th‑century late‑Gothic town house into a new museum by the end of the year. The project, costing roughly 45 million Czech crowns, includes extensive structural work, a new multimedia exhibition and landscaping, with part of the funding coming from a Czech‑Saxon cross‑border grant.

In Nové Město na Moravě, the regional authority will modernise the Střední odborná škola Bělisko campus. The overhaul, estimated at about 250 million Czech crowns, will add new building sections, improve energy efficiency with insulation, new windows, ventilation and photovoltaic panels, and upgrade teaching facilities. The construction is scheduled to start in 2027 and finish by 2029, financed through regional budgets and EU environmental programme grants.
