Czech towns Rokycany and Bohutín celebrate summer beer festivals
Rokycany hosted its ninth annual Beer Festival on 20 June 2026 in Masaryk Square. The event featured beers from thirteen breweries, including regional mini‑breweries and larger brands such as Purkmistr, Raven and Zlatá kráva. Live music played from morning until night, and a visitor vote named Klenot the most popular brewery. The mayor, Ing. Tomáš Rada, said, “This is exactly the feeling we do it for… the full square, lively music, happy people… it fills me with sincere joy.”
A week later, on 27 June 2026, Bohutín’s neighboring village held its Beer Festival at the historic Řimbaba site. The programme combined regional brews from Plzeň, Kácov and other breweries with traditional food, a baroque‑style wood‑fired oven operated by Mája Šálková, and live performances by local bands. Competitions such as a beer sprint and a nail‑hammering contest added entertainment. The festival was officially opened by the mayor of Bohutín at 13:00 and organized by several local clubs and the municipal authority.
