Czech towns unveil summer cultural festivals and concerts

The city of Krnov will host a month‑long summer programme from 1 July to 29 August. Outdoor film screenings will be shown under the stars in the garden of the Mír 70 cinema from Wednesday to Saturday, weather permitting. Weekly Friday music events – called “Naše páááátečky” – will feature chill‑out parties, concerts by Dr. Ong, Lucie Zet and other acts, and a “Feel The Vibe” session, all held in the park in front of the gymnasium or near the Leopold Bauer memorial.

In South Bohemia, a series of heritage sites will organise cultural activities throughout July and August. Český Krumlov Castle will open its courtyards for a jazz‑band concert and host music from an international festival in its gardens, ballroom and baroque theatre. Castle Hluboká will offer special “castellan” tours on 19 July, 2 August and 30 August focusing on its last private owner, Adolf Schwarzenberg, accompanied by a free exhibition on his African expeditions. Jindřichův Hradec will present night‑theatre performances and exhibitions on Habsburg visits. Additional attractions include romantic carriage rides at Kratochvíle (10‑12 August), falconry displays at Landštejn, rare‑book exhibitions at Nové Hrady, and a printing‑heritage exhibition in Vimperk.
