Czech towns upgrade football pitches ahead of youth season

The city of Jablonec nad Nisou is investing almost 11 million CZK to replace the artificial turf at the municipal football field in Mšena. A 3 million CZK grant from the Liberec region covers part of the cost. The two‑month reconstruction will bring the pitch up to FAČR standards and serves roughly 400 children each year. Deputy mayor Petr Roubíček said, “The old surface was far beyond its service life.”

In Vlachovo Březí, the local club FC Vlachovo Březí will hold a ceremonial opening of its fully renovated sports complex on 18 July 2026. The overhaul, financed by the South Bohemian region, the town and the city of České Budějovice, includes new artificial turf, an irrigation system, upgraded stands, changing rooms, a new roof and façade. Club officials expressed pride in the result and highlighted the facility’s importance for youth and senior teams.

Both projects aim to provide safer, modern training environments for local football academies and improve community sports infrastructure.
