Czech travelers plan summer trips, half combine domestic and foreign destinations

A survey by Ipsos for Home Credit shows that two‑thirds of Czech residents have already set their plans for the 2024 summer holiday. Nearly half (48 %) intend to split their break between a stay in the Czech Republic and travel abroad, while 27 % will vacation solely within the country and 24 % will go only overseas.

The study highlights age‑related differences: one‑third of those under 26 travel exclusively abroad, whereas residents of small towns favour a domestic holiday. Higher‑income households (monthly earnings above 80 000 CZK) are the most likely to combine trips, with 61 % doing so. Italy, Slovakia, Croatia and Greece rank among the most popular foreign destinations. The report notes that younger travelers prefer planning independently, while older groups still rely on travel agencies.
