Czech TV debuts series 'Na tělo' on midlife crises

Czech Television will broadcast the nine‑part dramedy Na tělo, adapted from Martina Formanová’s novel and directed by Jan Hřebejk. The first two episodes premiered at the Litomyšl Festival on 30 July, and the series will begin airing on ČT1 from 2 September.

The story follows seven former classmates who reunite at a class reunion thirty years after graduation, confronting aging, family dynamics and midlife crises that echo in the lives of their teenage children. Producer Josef Viewegh described the series as a blend of serious themes and humor, noting Formanová’s “absurdist” dialogue that makes the midlife crisis feel “the most entertaining period of life.”
