Czech universities host science and technology festivals

Czech universities are hosting science and technology festivals to promote STEM education through interactive experiences.

The 11th Art & Science Festival will take place at the VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava campus on September 2. The event features a morning program tailored for high school students to explore university life and research projects, followed by an afternoon session open to the general public. Exhibits include solar panels, wind turbines, geothermal wells, quantum computers, and autonomous vehicles. Lectures will cover topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the development of autonomous vehicles in the EU.

In Brno, the Science and Technology Festival at the Brno Exhibition Centre features participation from the Brno University of Technology (VUT). The festival offers hands-on activities including chemical shows, engineering demonstrations, and aerospace technology. Highlights include the Formula Student racing team, aircraft construction workshops, and the YSpace team, which showcases the KOSTKA satellite—the first Czech satellite designed and built entirely by students.
