Czech university housing and parking challenges in Jihlava and České Budějovice

Higher education institutions in the Czech Republic are facing logistical challenges regarding student accommodation and parking. In Jihlava, construction of new dormitories for the Institute of Technology is progressing, with the project expected to provide housing for 200 students and approximately 50 new parking spaces. However, ongoing legal disputes with neighbors have caused construction delays, making the exact completion date uncertain.

In České Budějovice, the area surrounding the South Bohemian University campus is experiencing significant parking congestion. Students commuting from the region are reportedly using residential parking spaces, grassy areas, and blocking exits. In response, the university is investing 14 million CZK into expanding parking capacities, while city officials and university representatives seek further solutions to manage the influx of vehicles.
