Czech volleyball team prepares for European Championship clash against Belgium

The Czech men's national volleyball team is preparing to face Belgium in the round of 16 at the European Championship in Turin. Czech coach Jiří Novák highlighted the importance of neutralizing Belgium's key players, Ferre Reggers and Sam Deroo, whom he metaphorically referred to as 'two animals' that decide the outcome of matches.

Reggers has been one of the tournament's most productive players, recording 150 points in the group stage, while Deroo follows with 135 points. Novák noted that while the Czech team is aware of Belgium's strengths, defensive stability remains a challenge for his squad.

Despite recent losses in preparation matches against Belgium, the Czech team enters the playoff stage following a group stage where they secured the fourth qualifying spot in Group A. Player Lukáš Vašina emphasized that the match will be decided by small details, such as service performance and rest. The winner of this matchup will advance to face the winner of the Slovenia-Serbia game in the quarterfinals.
