Czech water polo star Matyáš Solfronk targets national team spot

Matyáš Solfronk, a leading player for the Orca water‑polo club, is among the Czech Republic’s top athletes in the sport. He trains in his hometown of Strakonice, a recognised centre for Czech water polo, and regularly competes in domestic leagues and international qualifiers. Solfronk expressed ambition to join the national squad for the upcoming Olympic qualification tournament, noting the strong competition in the men’s field but highlighting the rising strength of the women’s team.

Beyond the pool, he works alongside his grandfather, an ironworker, using the physical labour to build strength. He also spends time in the gym, balancing his athletic and occupational commitments while pursuing his long‑term goal of representing the Czech Republic at major events.
