EuroVolley 2026: Teams secure spots in round of 16
The EuroVolley 2026 group stages have concluded with several teams securing their places in the round of 16.
Serbia dominated Group B, finishing with a perfect 5-0 record after a 3-0 victory over Ukraine. Despite the win, Serbian coach Zoran Terzić noted a need for improved defensive focus and service reception ahead of tougher opponents.
In Group B, the Greek women's team secured qualification for the top 16 despite a 3-0 loss to Serbia. The Czech Republic also advanced to the knockout stage following a 3-1 win over Ukraine, led by Monika Brancuská's 21 points.
In Group D, Croatia secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against Montenegro to claim the fourth qualifying spot. This result sets up a round of 16 matchup between Croatia and Serbia. Meanwhile, Slovakia's qualification remains dependent on the outcome of the match between Croatia and Montenegro, after their 3-0 win over Montenegro.
